WHO RUNS THE SYNDICATE?
Ideally, a designated member of the Syndicate or a Club representative with the help of Aintree Park staff in the set up of the lease and during the leasing period.
IS TWO YEARS THE MINIMUM LENGTH OF SYNDICATION?
Yes, which is the standard length of time, however the option of closing the Syndicate at any time is possible.
HOW MANY TIMES CAN YOU CHANGE A HORSE?
Given each preparation is different for each horse – you would probably look at three horses during the two year period if they were not performing.
WHAT IS THE PAYMENT METHOD?
Direct debit weekly. All payments for winning races will also be EFT to individual accounts from Racing Victoria NOT by Aintree Park.
WHAT HORSES ARE AVAILABLE?
Bred by Aintree Park, they are listed on this website under "Our Horses".
CAN WE FIND OUT ANYTHING ABOUT CURRENT TRACK WORK etc?
All horses for lease have not been galloped and are heading towards their first or second preparation and therefore are untried so an indication of ability is unknown.
HOW LONG FROM COMMITMENT UNTIL THE HORSE RACES?
No sooner than 14 weeks, although with thoroughbred horses, there are no guarantees due to unforeseen issues.
HOW MANY MEMBERS CAN YOU HAVE IN A SYNDICATE?
Unlimited.
IF WE MOVE A HORSE ON, CAN WE START WITH ANOTHER UNTRIED HORSE?
No, the replacement horse will be in training at the same preparation (give or take four weeks in advance or behind).
WHO WILL TRAIN THE HORSE?
We have a current trainer ready to take the horse after pre-training at Aintree Park is completed.
CAN THE SYNDICATE CHOOSE THE TRAINER OF THE HORSE?
No, the trainer will have an agreement with Aintree Park who still own the horse.
CAN THE SYNDICATE DETERMINE WHAT RACE THE HORSE CAN BE ENTERED ?
Yes, if the horse is suitably qualified for the chosen race and after negotiation and agreement with the trainer of the horse.
IF THE HORSE IS REALLY QUITE GOOD IS THERE AN OPTION TO EXTEND THE LEASE?
Yes an additional 12 months can be added to a Syndication term.
WHAT IF A SYNDICATE MEMBER STOPS PAYMENT?
We will let the Syndicate manager know and a possible replacement can be considered. Otherwise the Club sponsorship would be less at each quarter, applicable to the ceasing of payments.
DOES THE CHOSEN HORSE COME WITH A VETERINARY CERTIFICATE FOR SOUNDNESS?
Yes.
